The Right Choice Assistant is here to assist you determine whether or not you have the skills needed for a successful experience in an online course.
There are a number of skills and attitudes that have been identified for successful online students. A successful online student has technical skills, the ability to be a self-motivated and self-directed learner, and is able to work without direct supervision.
A successful distance learner needs to be aware that online courses require as much, if not more, time than a regular class. It is also very important to realize that these courses are not self-paced, but that you will likely have at least one weekly class activity. The real benefit is that you are able to "attend" at the time most convenient to you!
How does the Right Choice Assistant work? It consists of a series of multiple choice questions that you need to answer to the best of your knowledge. The questions are designed to help you assess your ability to successfully complete an online class.
After you complete all of the questions in the Assistant, it will compile your results and advise you regarding whether or not you are prepared to take an online course. The Assistant may also offer advice for improvement, or identify resources that will improve your likelihood of a successful experience.
